Protecting the future of built assets
We are Glider
Glider is the company behind Asset Intelligence, the discipline that ensures the people responsible for buildings can find, trust and act on the information they need over time.
For decades, Glider has worked with organisations across construction, estates and facilities management to improve how building information is created, handed over and used in operation.
Our work sits at the point where information most often breaks down, the transition from project delivery into day‑to‑day use. That perspective shapes everything we do and is why we’re working to improve the way building information is used.
Our history

Glider was founded in 2016 by Nick Hutchinson and Steve Rukuts, following their work on complex building projects where the same challenge surfaced repeatedly. Even when information existed, it was rarely trusted or usable once buildings entered operation.
Glider was established to address this gap. Early work focused on improving how asset information was defined, captured and validated during project delivery, recognising that decisions made at handover shape how buildings perform for decades. From the outset, the focus has been on information continuity across the full lifecycle, not just project completion.
In 2024, Glider acquired EDocuments, a digital handover specialist with more than 20 years of experience supporting the built environment. EDocuments brought deep, practical expertise in managing information production during construction and a clear view of where handover commonly breaks down.
Bringing EDocuments into Glider strengthened this perspective and reinforced a shared belief. Getting information right during delivery is essential, but it must be connected to how buildings are operated, maintained and improved over time.
Now operating as a single organisation under the Glider name, this combined experience has laid the foundations for what is now defined as Asset Intelligence. A discipline built around structuring, governing and sustaining asset information so it can be used with confidence over time.
Why Asset Intelligence matters to us
The built environment does not lack information. It lacks a way of using information with confidence over time.
Asset Intelligence addresses this by focusing on the full lifecycle of building information. From defining what information is needed, to ensuring it is created correctly, governed consistently and used to support real decisions in operation.
This is not a one‑time transformation. Organisations build capability progressively, strengthening individual functions over time as priorities demand. Asset Intelligence is designed to work in practice, not just in theory.
