Glider to deliver a digital handover solution for Stratford Waterfront East Bank development

The Stratford Waterfront site will bring together BBC recording studios, a new campus for UAL’s London College of Fashion, a 550-seat theatre for Sadler’s Wells and a new museum for the V&A.

The development is part of the wider £1.1 billion East Bank project which will create a new powerhouse of culture, education, innovation and growth being built on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, east London. East Bank also includes significant developments on two other sites with a new campus for UCL in the south of the Park and the V&A East Storehouse collection and storage centre at Here East in the north of the Park.

2022 marks 10 years since the world’s spotlight shone on London for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. East Bank is one of the biggest legacy projects from the Games that will help to cement London’s reputation as a world leader in culture, education and innovation creating 2,500 jobs, £1.5 billion of economic benefit and 600 new homes.

Nick Hutchinson, Co-Founder said, “It is an honour to be working on such a prestigious project, one that will bring great opportunity to the local community. Using our gliderbim® solution, the teams will be able to effectively manage asset information throughout the entire lifecycle of each asset within the development, by using one common data repository, communicating effectively with its supply chain throughout the design and construction process, through to the operational lifetime of each new facility”.

On a project of this scale, the team has naturally amassed an enormous amount of information, and gliderbim® will help to structure all of this information and data on each aspect of the development, offering an online place for collecting, managing and sharing information.

gliderbim® will help to build an accurate and well-structured data set – a ‘Project Information Model’ (PIM) – as each stage of the project progresses. Once verified, this published documentation and data will be used in the asset management phase or the Asset Information Model (AIM).

The asset data and handover documentation project are due for completion in 2022.
