Case Study:
Clatterbridge Cancer Care Centre
Located on the Liverpool Health Campus, alongside the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, the Clatterbridge Cancer Care Centre is a landmark facility for the region and beyond. This award-winning, 11-storey, 110-bed hospital was designed to bring world-class cancer services into the heart of Liverpool, ensuring patients can access the latest treatments in a modern, purpose-built environment. The centre delivers a wide range of highly-specialist care, from pioneering chemotherapy and immunotherapy through to gene therapy and radiotherapy, providing vital support to thousands of patients and their families each year.

The Project
This excellent-rated BREEAM facility was constructed for the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust to deliver its wide range of specialist cancer treatments.
Construction requirements
We were instructed to provide a full set of industry- compliant handover documents, including a Health & Safety file, O&M manuals, Building Logbook and BREEAM user guide. Information was collated over the three-year construction period to a detailed specification defined under the project’s BIM requirements.
Operational requirements
We also delivered accurate, validated COBie to enable the client to use their data alongside other platforms, such as their CAFM system.
How we did it
We managed the collation process from start to finish, onboarding and training the supply chain to ensure all data was accurate and compliant. Our technical staff produced the MEP O&M manuals on behalf of the MEP contractor, ensuring compliance, accuracy and consistency throughout.
Working with the project design team and digital engineers, we created bespoke asset templates to capture the required information. The inbuilt reporting tools on the Glider handover platform made it simple to review, comment on and approve data in one place, with a full visible audit trail. A detailed dashboard accurately tracked progress and provided early warnings against programme delays.
Final asset information was automatically linked to as-built geospatial models, reducing the risk of error and ensuring accurate, up-to-date information for the end user.
Key outcomes
Now in its operational phase, the client continues to use the Glider handover platform to keep information live and accessible for staff and FM providers. This ensures they always have access to the latest validated data. Using powerful search tools, users can locate the information they need quickly, saving significant time and effort.
