Client Success Story

The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels

The Peninsula London
With a portfolio of HK$49 billion in assets, The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels Limited (HSH) is the owner and operator of a small number of the world’s finest luxury hotels under The Peninsula brand, as well as a number of strategic real estate and tourism assets, including The Repulse Bay, The Peak Tower and The Peak Tram, one of Hong Kong’s most popular tourism attractions.

Expanding its Peninsula group of hotels, HSH is bringing the Peninsula to London with a £650m development in the heart of Belgravia. The scheme received planning consent in April 2016 and will replace the 1950s and 1960s offices at 1–5 Grosvenor Place.

Glider was selected by HSH to provide end-user BIM consultancy services and build a digital delivery platform for the project, where they can store and manage the asset information for the lifecycle of the hotel.

Glider worked with the development team and construction manager to deliver structured asset data in the form of COBie and developed a Digital Strategy for HSH which is currently being explored to connect to multiple systems to enhance the digital solution with gliderbim® at its core.

This 189-bedroom luxury hotel is due to be completed in 2021.
