Glider takes on Four Peaks Challenge

Scaling new heights: The inspiring journey of two heroes who conquered the UK's Four Peaks Challenge for a worthy cause

Nick Hutchinson, Co-founder and Managing Director of Glider, and Stuart Bell, Director of Sales and Marketing, recently completed the Four Peaks Challenge in support of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity. As an asset lifecycle software provider for the built environment, Glider was honoured to support the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity in its worthy cause.

The construction industry is an integral part of our society, and yet many suffering construction workers go unnoticed. Every year there are over 84,000 cases of work-related illness that can be directly attributed to working in construction. The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity is the only charity that provides emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support of construction workers and their families. The charity receives no public funding and relies on the generosity of those within in the industry to help them continue their work in aiding unwell construction workers.

The Four Peaks Challenge was designed by the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity to help raise awareness and funds for those facing challenges within the construction industry. The formidable challenge entailed climbing to the summit of four of the UK’s highest mountains: Ben Nevis (1,345m), Helvellyn (950m), Snowdon (1,085m), and Carrauntoohil (1,038m), within a 48 hour window between 12-14 May 2022.

Nick and Stuart’s impressive efforts helped to raise over £3,000 by climbing to the four peaks. Currently, over £82,000, has been generously donated in aid of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity and their vital work.

Nick and Stuart joined 41 other members on the epic challenge from the organisations including Clancy, Careys, Blue Machinery Spares, Designer Group, JSP Safety, FKG Group, CSA Group, Entex Projects, Georoof, Falcon Green and buildspace.

Following the heroic achievement, the Gallagher Group Ltd and Glencar Construction hosted a gala dinner, which the Glider team had the honour of attending in celebration of their achievements. Although the challenge has been completed, you can still support the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity.
