After four years of outstanding achievement at Glider, it is with a heavy heart we say a fond farewell to John Hall.

John has been with Glider since November 2017 when he joined us as a BIM Engineer. It became apparent very quickly John was extremely talented, with a wide and impressive range of technical expertise in BIM management, coordination and information management.

Glider Managing Director, Nick Hutchinson commented on John’s departure: “John’s contribution to the success and continued growth of Glider has been superb. His priority has always been to ensure that our clients get the very best quality of service, and he has led by example.

“Shortly after Glider was formed John became our second employee, which makes his role and part of the business special for us. With John being with us from the very early days he was instrumental in the first stages of our gliderbim® software roll out for our customers and Glider’s unique process for managing the collation and verification of COBie data for (what was then) BIM Level 2 projects through to the design, construction and handover stages of building projects.”

John was part of the team who successfully the delivered the structured asset data for Deloitte’s new smart building headquarters project at 1 New Street Square, and he went on to manage the delivery of structured data to meet the wide ranging information requirements of Glider’s clients for the next three years of his time with the business, including, but not limited, to Lendlease, Sir Robert McAlpine, Wates Group, Kier Group, Legal & General Investment Management, Google, Arm and the Ministry of Justice.

John played a key role in successfully delivering the common data environment (CDE) Pathfinder project for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO). This resulted in the enterprise-wide adoption of our gliderbim® software for the Ministry of Defence with more than 4,000 sites worldwide.

Nick went on to say: “As part of the leadership team John has provided expert guidance and support to new members of Glider’s digital team as we have grown over the past few years, and he will be dearly missed.”

John is moving on to an internationally recognized construction company to take a lead role in information management for major construction projects across the UK. Nick added: “John’s new employer is lucky to have such an experienced and capable individual join their team to drive forward their BIM management services.”
